This regional workshop introduces best practices and lessons learned from using the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) for trade facilitation. ASYCUDA supports the implementation of the customs related articles of the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) in many countries.
ESCWA and UNCTAD are organizing this regional workshop to examine and promote the ASYCUDA system, which helps to facilitate trade and pioneer discussions and consultations between customs authorities and other governmental bodies on TFA ratification, including national trade facilitation committees.
The workshop aims to:
- Promote and create awareness of ASYCUDA global trade facilitation features;
- Discuss the utilization of ASYCUDA and advanced technologies;
- Present the TFA and the relevant ASYCUDA mechanisms for implementing TFA articles.
