The regional workshop and Arab Debt Management Group meeting bring together debt managers from ESCWA member countries to elaborate on the findings and recommendations of the Debt and Fiscal Outlook Report for the Arab Region, and launch it during the workshop. The report analyses different flows of finance – domestic resources, debt and innovative financing instruments – that can expand fiscal space to support sustainable development. The recommendations offer a comprehensive roadmap for the Arab region in its quest to achieve fiscal resilience and debt sustainability and unlock new sources of financing for sustainable development.
Building on the outcomes of the regional workshops in 2022 and 2023, the workshop advances collaboration between debt managers and international experts on different aspects related to developing debt optimization strategies.
Participants include representatives from ministries of finance and central banks from ESCWA member States, and selected global experts on public debt management and innovative financing instruments.
