The Development Account project on measuring, monitoring and improving performance in regional integration within the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the Economic Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and ESCWA regions aims to provide a robust regional integration index to be used by Member States to monitor and evaluate their economic integration performance. Within the framework of the project, ESCWA is organizing national workshop in Morocco. The session is part of a series of four.
The workshop is a capacity-building activity, covering the use of ESCWA’s System of Indices to Monitor and Evaluate Arab Integration (SIMAEI) performance and the dedicated SIMAEI platform in developing economic integration national plans, the methodology and the features of the SIMAEI platform, as well Morocco’s needs for specific customization of the tool and the platform.
The workshop trains Morocco to use SIMAEI to develop evidence-based economic integration strategies, scenario analyses and impact studies.
The findings of the National Strategic Plan for the Economic Integration of Morocco carried by ESCWA is also being discussed.
