As part of the Review of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 years (BDPfA), ESCWA is organizing a national workshop in Jordan, in partnership with the Jordanian National Commission for Women and the UN-Women Jordan country office, to roll out a national consultation process for preparing the Jordan report on progress made in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 years. The workshop is held under the patronage of the chair of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Women’s Empowerment, and includes all relevant government, national and security institutions, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and the media.
The workshop is aimed at introducing participants to the review process and the linkages between the BDPfA and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Practical material and instructions are provided to assist the Jordanian National Commission for Women in preparing a report that is comprehensive and participatory and that provides strategic insights on interventions, challenges and progress with clear impact using updated disaggregated data.
