On 7 February, ESCWA organized a meeting for the Arab national statistical offices in preparation for the 55th session of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC), to be held in New York from 27 February to 1 March.
The meeting provided an overview of the provisional agenda items designated for discussion and decision-making. Delegates delivered their comments on the documents and discussed each of the agenda items.
ESCWA organizes this meeting annually for the national statistical offices in Arab countries to enhance their role and agree on a unified Arab position that supports the regional statistical work.
