As part of Cairo Urban Week and ahead of the World Urban Forum, ESCWA, in collaboration with UN-Habitat and the Quality of Life Program (QOL) organized the “Global Conference of the Quality of Life Initiative”, on 2 and 3 November.
Urban leaders, policymakers, and experts explored the Quality of Life’s central role in sustainable and inclusive urban development. Participants reviewed solutions aimed at improving urban quality of life and addressing challenges like climate change, inequality, and rapid technological shifts.
The conference also featured the "A Youth Vision of Quality of Life" session, showcasing the “Arab Youth Photo Competition on Quality of Life in Cities”, which presented powerful visual stories documented by young Arab photographers, highlighting the realities of urban life.
