To improve the agricultural sector and food security in the Arab region, ESCWA, the League of Arab States (LAS) and other regional partners held the Arab Forum for Agriculture from 4 to 6 December in Amman, Jordan.
The Forum discussed challenges the region is facing, opportunities and available solutions, including the Strategy for Sustainable Arab Agricultural Development 2020-2030, the use of modern technology in agriculture and policy coordination mechanisms between agriculture and water sectors.
The Forum also addressed opportunities for climate financing, investment in sustainable agriculture and the role of the private sector in sustainable agriculture development in the region, which can enhance the resilience of food systems and water security.
