Renewable energy and SDGs explained to Lebanese children

In line with its efforts to prepare future generations for sustainable living, an ESCWA delegation paid a visit in July to the Nebras Complex for Care and Development in West Bekaa, which is part of the Social Welfare Institute, Dar Al Aytam Al Islamiyya.

Young students were introduced to ESCWA Stories and their characters, and their role in making their social communities sustainable. Older children learned about main renewable energy disciplines in rural areas, and the water-energy-food nexus, as well as the importance of using renewable energy and adopting solutions provided within the context of the REGEND initiative.

The visit concluded with a distribution of ecofriendly gifts, ESCWA Stories three books, and other publications on ways to use renewable energy in rural areas.
