ESCWA is organizing a national workshop to discuss debt management practices and debt sustainability strategies and challenges in Oman. The workshop aims to examine possible options to access innovative financing instruments and their association with designing sustainable financing frameworks; deliberate on the different factors that impact risks and costs of debt and debt service; discuss different options for a debt optimization strategy based on the Oman context; and agree on the next steps for technical cooperation on developing debt optimization strategies and fiscal reforms to improve fiscal space and finance the Sustainable Development Goals. This workshop falls under the focus area of Debt and Fiscal Policy
Participants in the national workshop include representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, and other relevant national authorities.
