With the aim of enhancing fiscal space in the Arab region, ESCWA in collaboration with UNCTAD organized on 27 and 28 July a workshop to discuss dept optimization strategies and assess the needs of Arab states.
ESCWA provided participants - including representatives of ministries of finance, central banks, and public administration experts - with an overview of debt management and debt data reporting practices in the Arab region. Participants discussed debt data management tools and areas of challenges and improvements as needed.
They also discussed a project prepared by ESCWA in partnership with UNCTAD, entitled “Developing Debt Optimization Strategies to Enhance Fiscal Space in Arab States”.
