ESCWA is organizing a regional dialogue on policies and tools that support progress in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA). The dialogue focuses on five key priority areas:
• Elimination of violence against women
• Women's political participation
• Equality and inequality in the law and the justice systems
• Right to work, decent work environment and leadership opportunities
• Support for national mechanisms.
The dialogue presents Governments’ experiences and global best practices in adopting policy reforms in these areas, and discusses the challenges faced. The outcome of the dialogue serves in preparing a guide to best practices that support countries in the implementation process, and contributes to the preparations for the Beijing +30 review.
This dialogue falls under the umbrella of the Review of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 years, which supports Arab Governments in the implementation of the BPfA. It brings together national women's machineries, civil society organizations and experts.
