This issue is dedicated to partnerships in information and communications technology (ICT) projects, and focuses on partnerships between the private and public sectors which accelerate the implementation of such projects, distribute the risk between the two sectors and contribute to the creation of employment opportunities. The issue also presents an overview of developments in the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society, and reviews ESCWA activities over a six month period. Other important subjects such as data centers, information poverty, the Internet and freedom of expression are also discussed in this Review.
