On 20 and 21 June, the ESCWA National Agenda for the Future of Syria (NAFS) and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) held a regional dialogue on the “Water-Energy-Food Nexus: Building Resilience in Fragile and Conflict-affected Agrifood Systems”.
Experts from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Sudan, Syria, and Uzbekistan examined the interconnected water-energy-food systems in fragile environments, shared success stories and identified various challenges and opportunities.
They also explored strategies to mobilize financial and technical resources, and discussed ways to facilitate networking and collaboration among participants.
