From 30 April to 2 May, ESCWA organized a technical workshop in Abu Dhabi on using the Global Economy Wide Simulator Interface (GETSI) for the United Arab Emirates.
The workshop provided participants with the opportunity to learn about simulation mechanisms and extract and analyze results in an easy and flexible way, while adopting all the conditions of quantitative economic analysis that are commonly used in academic settings.
It also reviewed the possibilities for developing the platform, including restrictions imposed on trade in services, carbon taxes on trade, and the linkage between global and national models.
