On 22 April, ESCWA participated in the first meeting aimed at unifying the Arab position on the Global Digital Compact, organized by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (LAS).
The virtual meeting included an explanation of the structure, content and most prominent topics covered by the zero draft of the Global Digital Compact, which will be agreed upon at the Summit of the Future next September, and expected to outline shared principles for an open, free and secure digital future for all.
The discussion included interventions by several team members and experts in the field of information and communications technology.
