Training junior diplomats in Kuwait on climate change negotiations

The Arab region is facing major challenges that are hindering its ability to achieve sustainable socioeconomic development. Climate change and climate variability are among these challenges that are imposing additional stresses on the region.
 
On 12 and 16 May, ESCWA organized in Kuwait a workshop for junior diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to actively engage in climate change negotiations, with a view to enhancing multilateral cooperation and developing common positions with like-minded States for achieving global climate goals in line with regional and national priorities.
 
The junior diplomats also joined the seventeenth regional workshop on capacity development for climate change negotiations for Arab countries.
