On 3 November, ESCWA, the Community-based Rehabilitation (CBR) Global Network (CGN) along with CBR regional Networks, held a virtual regional dialogue to identify the best practices in CBR and Community-based Inclusive Development (CBID) especially in the COVID-19 context.
The dialogue highlighted the many social and economic challenges and obstacles imposed by the pandemic on persons with disabilities, and the importance of innovation, creation, implementation and use of new ideas, processes, or products for effective change in society.
The dialogue is part of a series of regional dialogues that will be held in the Arab region during the next two months. These dialogues will feed directly into the planning of the CBR/CBID Congress to be held in 2023. Such evidence would also feed into the Second Global Disability Summit, to be held early next year.
