Sudanese Minister of Education Visits ESCWA

Minister of Education in the Sudan Hamed Muhammad Ibrahim visited ESCWA premises today, where he met with Deputy Executive Secretary a.i Muhammad Abdul Razzak. The meeting was also attended by Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Sudan in Lebanon, Al Hadi Siddiq Ali Numeiri, and ESCWA Secretary of Commission Albagir Ibrahim Adam. The Sudanese officials were briefed on the work of the Commission and its activities in member countries. Discussions extended to technical cooperation and services that ESCWA could render to Sudan in this area.

The Sudan recently joined ESCWA, which now comprises 14 member countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Its objective is to support economic and social cooperation among the countries of the region and promote the development process in order to achieve regional integration.
