Following the successful launching and adoption of the Social Expenditure Monitor in Tunisia, ESCWA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, organized on 12 and 13 February a workshop on the implementation of the Social Expenditure Monitor (SEM) onto the ministry's information technology infrastructure.
The workshop included integrating the SEM tool into the ministry’s data centre to enhance their monitoring and support for planning and future budgeting exercises. Additionally, Tunisian officials received a training on utilizing the tool for future data updates.
The SEM is a pioneering tool which improves monitoring and managing social expenditure so that the policies are more equitable, efficient and effective for inclusive growth.
