To identify priorities in social policies and optimize social expenditures, ESCWA is launching a social expenditure monitor (SEM) in Arab countries, starting with two pilot projects in Tunisia and Jordan.
In this context, ESCWA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Finance in Jordan, organized from 26 to 29 September a national workshop for Jordanian officials on analysis and modelling in social spending.
Representatives of line ministries and public entities discussed important findings of the SEM in Jordan, and agreed on the next steps to keep it updated and ensure its sustainability.
