Social Accounting Matrix for the United Arab Emirates

As part of its efforts to provide technical assistance to member States, ESCWA organized a national workshop on the Social Accounting Matrix for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy in the country.
 
The workshop on 7 and 8 June presented the initial version of the Matrix developed by ESCWA for both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, using supply-demand and input-output tables. Participants studied the Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Model adopted by the UAE, to help decision makers identify policies which support economic growth.
 
The UAE version of the Arab Trade Simulator Interface, which will be developed soon, was also discussed.
