ESCWA is organizing a national workshop on the Social Accounting Matrix for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The workshop presents the initial version of the Social Accounting Matrix, developed by ESCWA using supply and demand and input and output tables for both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Participants explore the characteristics of the General Equilibrium Model for the United Arab Emirates economy to analyse the appropriate policies for the implementation of the country’s development plan and vision. The national version of the Arab Trade Simulator Interface, which will be developed soon, is also discussed.
The workshop is organized at the request of the UAE Ministry of Economy within the framework of the technical assistance provided to member States.
