On 20 October, ESCWA discussed smart digital solutions for urban resilience in the Arab region amid COVID-19 at the 10th virtual conference on “Community Friendly Cities”, which aimed at building smart, environmentally friendly and sustainable cities.
ESCWA also discussed the Fourth Industrial Revolution and reviewed global and regional good practices, while suggesting recommendations for early recovery.
The conference, organized by the Arab Towns Organization, Environmental Centre for Arab Towns, Dubai Municipality and Mercer, focused on modern strategies and studies about the happiness of communities within the cities, and on related successful global technologies, practices and initiatives.
