In anticipation of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), ESCWA, along with the COP27 and COP28 Presidencies and the United Nations Climate Change High-Level Champions, organized the second Arab Regional Forum on Climate Finance.
The forum, held on 6 November in Dubai, aimed to enhance collaboration among Governments, private sector entities and international development organizations to advance dialogue on climate finance in the region, and channel funding towards priority projects presented by Arab countries.
Bankable projects and initiatives in vital sectors including water, energy, transport and biodiversity, were also showcased. The forum served as a platform to exchange knowledge and best practices, and provided networking opportunities.
