To enhance the accuracy and efficiency of price data collection practices in Kuwait, ESCWA organized from 28 April to 2 May a national workshop to train the Central Statistical Bureau team in the country on the construction and utilization of the Automatic Price Collection Tool (APCT), developed by ESCWA for modernizing statistical operations in member countries.
Through comprehensive training sessions and practical exercises, participants gained expertise in APCT design and deployment, ensuring readiness to meet future data collection requirements.
The workshop is part of a broader series organized by ESCWA with a particular focus on "Modernizing Price Data Extraction with APCT". This initiative seeks to revolutionize the methodology of price data collection by integrating modern techniques such as scanner data and web scraping.
