On 15 and 16 March, the League of Arab States, in partnership with ESCWA and in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Egypt, organized a workshop in Cairo entitled "Responding to the needs of persons with disabilities in crises and epidemics".
ESCWA contributed to the development and presentation of the draft roadmap to support persons with disabilities during conflicts, natural humanitarian crises and the spread of pandemics in the region.
The workshop focused on the need to provide protection and ensure the necessary national measures to protect persons with disabilities amid crises, pandemics and other types of disasters.
