Regulatory framework on road safety in Jordan

To reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries caused by traffic accidents, ESCWA held a workshop in Amman, Jordan, to discuss the regulatory framework on road safety.
 
On 15 September, representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Transport in Jordan, the Arab Union for Land Transport, as well as concerned entities and experts discussed a revised draft of the proposed regulatory framework and new legislation prepared by ESCWA and national experts.
 
The workshop is part of the "Reducing Road Deaths and Injuries in Jordan through Increasing Restraint Use" project funded by the United Nations Road Safety Fund and implemented by ESCWA, in partnership with the ministries of interior and transport in Jordan, and a number of other public and private stakeholders.
