Ten years after the 2013 Cairo Declaration, ESCWA, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Arab States Regional Office and the League of Arab States (LAS) organized on 2 February a workshop for national focal points on the regional review of the International Conference on Population and Development.
The workshop aimed to assess the progress made by Arab countries in collecting the necessary data and information required for the preparation of the regional review report, as a follow-up to the 2013 Cairo Declaration.
Participants from 13 Arab countries discussed the different challenges faced in completing the guiding template of the review, and shared good practices that can improve the preparation of national reports based on which a comprehensive regional report can be drafted for the region.
