Gender Analysis in the Justice Sector in Morocco

Under the partnership programmes with ESCWA, UNWomen in Morocco and the Center of Excellence for the Gender Responsive Budgeting under the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Morocco, and with the support of the European Union and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the Moroccan Ministry of Justice organized on 29 November a meeting to conclude the study on gender analysis in the justice sector in the country.

The meeting included a presentation on the study process, which aims at developing a roadmap to mainstream gender equality in three institutions of the justice sector namely the Ministry of Justice, the Presidency of the Public Ministry and the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power (SCJP).

The study focuses on identifying gender equality challenges in the justice sector and the roles of key stakeholders, proposing concrete recommendations to integrate gender perspectives into legislative, institutional, and administrative measures, as well as in services provided to citizens.
