As part of the capacity building workshop series for rural women in Algeria under the REGEND initiative, ESCWA organized a workshop on entrepreneurship and marketing of productive activities using renewable energy in Beni Abbas.
The workshop, held on 29 and 30 January, aimed to enhance the knowledge of rural women on the concepts of entrepreneurship and management from a rural development perspective. Participants learned about feasibility studies, financing options, cost accounting, pricing, legal frameworks for founding businesses in Algeria and the basics of marketing through social media platforms.
In a related context, ESCWA provided, installed, and commissioned two solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in the farms of rural women in Chorbane, Tunisia.
