The number of older persons in the Arab region is constantly growing, increasing the challenges to meet their needs. ESCWA and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Iraq organized a workshop to review the national policy for older persons and develop a roadmap for its implementation.
The workshop, held on 29 and 30 November, brought together representatives from various ministries, relevant government agencies and the civil sector. Participants reviewed the national policy developed by ESCWA and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
Conclusions and recommendations of the workshop will be used to revise the final version of the national policy.
