On 21 October, Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and ESCWA held a press conference in Doha, Qatar, to announce the details of an upcoming event that will merge the third Arab SMEs Summit 2024 and the tenth edition of the ROWAD Entrepreneurship Conference.
This year’s event, themed “Navigating Digital Horizons” will run from 18 to 20 November, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). It is expected to bring together prominent entrepreneurs, innovators, policymakers, and experts from across the Arab region.
In his statement, Coordinator of the Arab SMEs Summit Kareem Hassan emphasized the importance of joint cooperation, highlighted in this event, which is aimed at empowering Arab entrepreneurs to keep pace with global technological developments.
The event will focus on themes that reflect economic priorities and future trends to stimulate growth and innovation in the Arab region.
For his part, Executive Director of Advisory and Incubation at QDB Hamad Salem Mejegheer asserted that this year’s edition of the conference would be the largest, hoping it would contribute to the region's economic development and digital innovation.
The event themes include green technology for enhancing environmental sustainability, creative economy, which leverages innovation in the cultural and artistic sectors to enhance Arab identity, and e-commerce to enable Arab pioneers to expend into global markets. Additionally, the event will tackle advanced logistics technologies and shipping services to improve cross-border trade efficiency.
It will also focus on high technology and artificial intelligence, alongside educational technologies that aim to equip Arab youth with the skills needed for the digital age.
