On 12 and 13 October, ESCWA and the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Egypt organized a virtual workshop on measuring social and economic inequalities and developing equality-oriented policies.
The workshop focused on enhancing the capacities of officials and experts working on the development and implementation of social programs and policies, to analyze and measure inequality in income or consumption, wealth, welfare and gender equality, and to design, develop and implement public policies and programs directed at achieving social and economic equality.
The workshop comes within the framework of the technical support program provided by ESCWA to Arab countries to promote social justice in social and economic policies and programs.
