On 21 and 22 June, ESCWA, the League of Arab States (LAS) and UN Women organized a regional meeting for members of the Subcommittee on Gender Equality on Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
The meeting aimed to incorporate gender mainstreaming in VNRs, particularly during the follow-up and review stage of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Doing so will integrate women's issues as an effective component in policymaking and institutional and coordination mechanisms.
