Ageing is an issue affecting the achievement of several SDGs, including ending poverty and hunger, reducing inequalities and promoting health and well-being to name a few. It has become an emerging priority in the region, yet older persons are often overlooked in development policies.
Therefore, ESCWA organized a session on mainstreaming ageing in sustainable development on the sidelines of the AFSD, during which participants identified challenges facing older persons in the region.
They also shared good practices and solutions addressing their needs and priorities.
