To preserve the rights of older persons and ensure they live with dignity, ESCWA and the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Egypt organized a workshop on mainstreaming ageing in policymaking.
The workshop on 13 and 14 June was attended by representatives of various ministries and government agencies which handle matters related to the elderly, and raised awareness on the rights of older persons as per international human rights standards.
The aim was also to build the capacity of participants to draft public policies which integrate older persons’ concerns and priorities.
