Launch of the UN World Water Development Report 2020

ESCWA, the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science in the Arab States and UNESCO field offices in the Arab region launched last week the World Water Development Report 2020 on Water and Climate Change (WWDR 2020) in an online meeting.
 
Experts from various United Nations agencies took part in the meeting and reviewed the key climate change challenges facing the region, as identified by the Regional Initiative for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources and Socio-Economic Vulnerability in the Arab Region. They also discussed the key findings and policy recommendations of WWDR2020, in addition to the issue of water scarcity in the wake of COVID-19.
 
WWDR is an authoritative review of the world's freshwater resources. It offers best practices and in-depth analyses about the sustainable management of water.
