On 22 May, ESCWA participated in the launch of the Governorate Competitiveness Index at the Governorates Economics Forum in Oman, which was held under the patronage of Crown Prince Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said.
The Regional Commission is contributing in designing the Index which is a strategic tool for directing investments and determining development priorities.
On the sidelines of the Forum, ESCWA and the Ministry of Economy held a workshop, which revolved around preparing the index and discussed the details of the work on developing it.
