On 20 September, ESCWA, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and the National Aid Fund in Jordan, organized a workshop to launch the work on an upcoming report titled “Landscape and Prospects of Social Protection in Jordan”. The report will contribute to the preparation of the country profiles for national social protection systems.
Experts and decision-makers from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the Department of Statistics and the Social Security Corporation discussed the process of drafting the report and the roles and responsibilities of each team, and agreed on the data collection process as well as the attached action plan.
The report, which will be launched in 2023, will provide a comprehensive analysis of the main aspects of social protection systems and programmes, and propose appropriate reforms.
