Given the role of open data in fostering economic growth, stimulating innovation, and creating new job opportunities, ESCWA and the Ministry of Telecom and Information Technology (MTIT) in Palestine organized a workshop on 11 and 12 October on the impact of open data in sustainable development.
Representatives from public institutions involved in the development and implementation of open data initiatives and projects discussed the main concepts of open data and its relation to digital transformation policies. They also discussed the ministry’s current and future open data initiatives in Palestine.
The workshop highlighted interoperability requirements and the technical aspects of developing an open data platform.
