Imagine a Greener, More Sustainable UN

Speak your mind in pictures! If you have ideas for a more sustainable UN and fancy yourself a photographer, share your pictures with us and be an agent of change. To celebrate the World Environment Day 2011, Greening the Blue – a UN program to make all its agencies climate neutral and green - and the UN Photographic Society have joined forces to launch the first in-house photographic competition that celebrates and inspires efforts to make the UN more sustainable. Visions of a Sustainable UN is the central theme of this photo competition. The competition provides an opportunity to raise the profile of existing green activities taking place within the UN, and will enable everyone to share their ideas of what a greener UN might look like. It provides a space for creativity and imagination, for hopes and dreams. All entries to the competition must be submitted before 27th May 2011, and should reflect the theme: Visions of a Sustainable UN. The winning entry will be announced on the World Environment Day (5th June), 2011 and the winner will receive an award be profiled on Greening the Blue website and the winning photograph will be framed and presented to the UN Secretary-General.
