Human capital is vital in advancing the future of sustainable energy, addressing immediate energy vulnerabilities, and promoting long-term socioeconomic development. Arab countries have diverse financing needs, necessitating innovative mechanisms to bridge infrastructure gaps and affordability issues.
On 16 July, ESCWA organized a finance focus group discussion to explore the questions of its recent human capital survey. The survey has gathered information from over 420 respondents, representing every Arab country. Topics of discussion included workforce development, risk management, financial instruments, innovative business models, and technology development.
Insights from this focus group will be highlighted in the upcoming ESCWA publication, “Investing in the Future: The Role of Human Capital in Enabling the Just Energy Transition”.
