From 6 to 8 February, ESCWA and the Ministry of Economy in Oman organized a workshop to train national experts and policymakers on the use of the Global Economywide Trade Simulator Interface for Oman.
The workshop aimed at enabling participants to evaluate alternative scenarios of trade in goods, conduct an early assessment of global trade shocks, perform trade simulations, and evaluate the potential macroeconomic and sectoral effects of trade reforms and external shocks on the national economy in a timely manner.
The Global Economywide Trade Simulator Interface, a tool developed by ESCWA, allows users to conduct trade simulations and assess the impacts of alternative trade agreement scenarios on national economies.
