On 23 and 24 March, the first National Urban Forum (NUF1) of Lebanon was held under the patronage of Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and organized by UN-Habitat and ESCWA at the UN House, in-person and virtually.
The two-day forum aimed at raising awareness and catalysing important discussions around cities in Lebanon where almost 90% of residents live in urban settings, with an attempt to place cities at the center of the future development discourse of the country.
The NUF1 introduced the State of Lebanese Cities report and three other ones revealing focused data and insights with a particular emphasis on the overall status of urbanization in Lebanon, energy, housing and transport.
