On 3 and 4 September, experts from Arab national machineries and other relevant entities in the region reviewed in a meeting the draft regional report on the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action thirty years after its adoption (Beijing +30).
The meeting, organized in Amman by ESCWA, the UN Women Regional Office for Arab States and the League of Arab States (LAS), was an opportunity to go over the situation of women amid the recent regional and global developments, in addition to success stories and challenges still faced by various countries.
The report will be revised and finalized in light of the experts’ input, and then presented, discussed and endorsed by government representatives at the high-level meeting in December.
