To develop the labour market in Qatar and raise its productive efficiency through the use of the latest digital and technological systems, ESCWA and the Ministry of Labour in Qatar signed on 24 April a cooperation agreement to support the development of an advanced labour market information system (LMIS) and data analytics ecosystem.
As part of this agreement, ESCWA will offer specialized advisory services to develop a sophisticated LMIS and supply the necessary data solutions to enable its establishment as an evidence-based policy tool.
The project will contribute to providing a digital model of labour market key performance indicators including employment forecasts using artificial intelligence, machine learning and econometric methods. It will also support evidence-based labour market policymaking in Qatar.
