To frame ESCWA support for employment in Lebanon, Executive Secretary Rola Dashti and Minister of Labour Lamia Yammine signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 10 September.
The MoU provides for the development of research, studies and programmes on employment and inclusive labour, and for capacity-building activities.
Dashti emphasized the importance of such an agreement during the hard times that the country is going through. As for Yammine, she welcomed ESCWA support, noting that the MoU will cover issues such as integration of persons with disabilities into the labour market.
