On 10 March, ESCWA marked the International Women’s Day under the theme “Women on the Front Lines in the Arab Region”.
The virtual event started with brief remarks by ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti, followed by testimonies of women from different sectors: education, healthcare, policymaking, journalism, entrepreneurship, and culture.
Panelists shed light on women who have been at the front lines of the pandemic, in different capacities, and have contributed to responding to it and mitigating its impact.
