In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, ESCWA joined UNCTAD and the four other UN regional commissions in a new project aimed at helping Governments and businesses keep transport networks and borders operational and facilitate the flow of goods and services.

The recently launched project will implement UN solutions, standards, guidelines, metrics, tools and methodologies to help developing countries build transport and trade resilience. It also seeks to equip Governments in developing and least developed countries to adapt to new post-COVID-19 conditions by tapping into UN expertise and adapting available tools to their specific and local conditions.

The project is expected to help national economies recover from COVID-19 and accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
