On 19 May, ESCWA, IOM Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa and other regional commissions organized two virtual events on the sidelines of the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF).
The first event highlighted cross-regional collaboration between Africa and Arab regions to accelerate the implementation of the Global Compact for Migration (GCM). Participants also discussed the support needed for member States and stakeholders in that regard.
The second event addressed key ways to accelerate the GCM implementation at the regional and national levels, and proposed concrete ideas to enhance regional collaboration.
